Robin Colton is the President and Chief Creative Officer of Robin Colton Studio, a boutique Interior Design firm, in Austin, Texas. Robin's experience has carried her across the country from Seattle to Austin, and ranges from single family residence furnishing projects, kitchen and bathroom renovations, small and large scale remodels, to luxury high-rise condominiums and multi-million dollar custom whole house construction. She enjoys collaborating with the client, architect, landscape designer, and builder early in the planning process. She has also worked from South Africa to Austin on hotel, office, and restaurant design.
FASHION DESIGN TO INTERIOR DESIGN
Robin's childhood was spent in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Her passion for fashion design took her to Los Angeles where she studied at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Robin worked for 10 years designing in the fashion industry, including as a Lead Designer for Nordstrom's Private Label division in Seattle, before switching her focus to interiors. She continued her Interior Design studies at Bellevue College while working with the team at Six Walls in Mercer Island, Washington. In 2006, she relocated her family to Austin where she was a Senior Interior Designer at a local firm for nearly 5 years before opening her eponymous studio in 2011. Robin brings her fashion design sensibility into the world of interior design whether in her client’s primary residences, vacation or second homes, or special event design.
